«إنما ذلك عرق وليست بالحيضة، فإذا أقبلت الحيضة فاتركي الصلاة، فإذا ذهب قدرها فاغسلي الدم عنك وصلي»
A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources
Summary
The first hadith in the chapter on the woman with irregular bleeding. Yahya transmits from Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa from his father from Aisha: Fatima bint Abi Hubaysh complained to the Prophet ﷺ that she was not clean, and asked whether she should leave off prayer. He told her it is a vein's blood and not menstruation, and that she should leave off prayer when her menses comes, and when its time has passed she should wash off the blood and pray. The editor cites al-Bukhari, Abu Dawud, al-Nasa'i, Ibn Hibban, al-Daraqutni and al-Shafi'i, and refers to al-Tamhid. 1 2
