Overview

Salih, prophet of Thamud. The tradition reports that when the Prophet passed by al-Hijr, the dwellings of Thamud, on the Tabuk expedition, he said: "Do not enter the dwellings of those who wronged themselves unless you are weeping, lest what befell them befall you." Then he covered himself with his cloak while he was on his mount. It is in Sahih al-Bukhari 1 2.

The museum presents Salih in the category of prophethood, on the basis that it is established in the transmitted source. References to the Qur'an's verses need the appropriate passage identifiers before they are added.
