Summary
A merchant of Banu al-Hadrami whose pact ran to Banu al-Aswad ibn Razn; Khuza'a fell upon him in their own land, killed him and took his goods — his killing was the first link of the feud that ended in the night attack of al-Watir 1.
What Ibn Ishaq relates
Malik ibn Abbad al-Hadrami set out as a merchant until he was deep in Khuza'a's land, where they fell upon him, killed him and took his goods 1. The Hadrami's pact at that time ran to al-Aswad ibn Razn — that is, Banu al-Aswad, the nobles of Banu al-Dayl — so vengeance for the slain man and his goods together fell upon Banu Bakr 1.
For young visitors
He was a travelling merchant who passed through Khuza'a's land; they killed him and took his merchandise. He had blood-kin in Banu Bakr, so his killing became the cause of a great later war.
