Overview
Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn Muhammad ibn al-Husayn al-Maghribi al-Ribati, a reciter, jurist, grammarian and eloquent secretary from Taza in Morocco. 1
He held the chancery in Fez in the reign of the Marinid sultan Abu Sa'id, and taught the readings at the mosque of al-Qarawiyyin. His poem al-Durar al-Lawami' (The Shining Pearls) had an influence on the science of the readings. He was born around 660 AH and died in 730 AH (1330 CE), according to report. 1
