Overview
From the Dulay'' of the Judham. He and his son Awaz raided Dihya al-Kalbi in the valley of Shinar as he came back from the Caesar with his gifts and garments, and took everything he had. Some of the Dubayb who had embraced Islam under the writing of Rifa'a got it back from them. 1 2
When Dihya came to the Prophet and asked him for the blood of al-Hunayd and his son, the Prophet sent Zayd ibn Haritha, who killed al-Hunayd and his son. 2
Notes for researchers
- The name of the valley and the attribution of al-Hunayd to the Dulay' come from Ibn Ishaq's text; the editors of the edition note variant readings in the vowelling of "al-Dulay'". 1
