Overview
Abu Taghlib Fadl Allah ibn Nasir al-Dawla ibn Hamdan, al-Ghadanfar, the last of the Banu Hamdan emirs in al-Jazira. He was killed in 369 AH. 2
His course in Ibn al-Athir
He fought Adud al-Dawla over Mosul and was then defeated and fled to Syria. Qassam, who had seized Damascus, stood between him and it, so he moved to Nawa. 2
A letter came to him from al-Aziz calling him to Egypt, and he refused, though messengers went back and forth. He met al-Aziz's commander near Tiberias, but he could not take Damascus peacefully. 2
His end
He marched to Ramla. Daghfal ibn al-Mafraj al-Jarrahi and al-Fadl, al-Aziz's commander, gathered the troops. The Uqayl deserted him, and only about seven hundred of his servants remained with him, so he was taken prisoner. Daghfal killed him and sent his head to Egypt. 2
