Overview
In 369 AH Abu Taghlib Fadl Allah ibn Nasir al-Dawla ibn Hamdan was killed, according to Ibn al-Athir. 2
The road to Ramla
He set out for Syria, but Qassam stood between him and Damascus. A letter came to him from al-Aziz in Egypt calling him to attend, and he refused. He met the commander of al-Aziz near Tiberias. In Ramla was Daghful ibn al-Muqarrij al-Jarrahi, who had shown obedience to al-Aziz. 2
The battle
Abu Taghlib marched to Ramla, but Ibn al-Jarrah and al-Fadl gathered their forces and the two sides lined up. The Uqayl were defeated, and only about seven hundred of his own slaves remained with Abu Taghlib. He was struck on the head, taken captive and brought to Daghful. 2
The killing
Al-Fadl wanted to take him to al-Aziz, but Daghful feared that al-Aziz would use him as he had used Subuktakin. So he killed him while al-Fadl was unaware and sent his head to Egypt. 2
