Summary
Malik transmits from Abd Rabbih ibn Said, from Amr ibn Shuayb, that the Messenger of God ﷺ, when he returned from Hunayn wanting al-Jiranah, was asked by people until his camel came close to a tree and caught his cloak; he said: return my cloak to me. Then he said: if God had given you spoils of the herds of Tihama like the thorn trees, I would have divided them among you. Then he stood among the people and said: return the thread and the needle, for embezzlement is shame and fire and disgrace to its people on the Day of Resurrection. The editor notes that Ibn Abd al-Barr said the hadith is relayed in Malik's transmission from Amr ibn Shuayb, and that it is connected from Amr from his father from his grandfather. 1
