Summary
Malik says that the interpretation of the hadith in which the Messenger of God ﷺ gave dispensation, in his view, is that they stone on the day of sacrifice, and when the day after the day of sacrifice has passed, they stone the next day, which is the first day of departure, so they stone for what has passed, then stone for their own day, because no one owes anything until it is obligatory. If they decide to depart, they are finished; and if they stay until the next day, they stone with the people on the second day of departure and depart. 1
