Summary
Malik was asked about the prayer of the people of Mecca at Arafat and Mina, and about the leader of the pilgrims if he is from Mecca. He said: the people of Mecca pray two rak'as each at Arafat and Mina as long as they stay there, shortening the prayer until they return to Mecca; and the leader of the pilgrims, if he is from Mecca, shortens at Arafat and in the days of Mina. As for one who lives at Mina or Arafat as a resident, he completes the prayer at the place where he lives. 1
