Summary
It reached Malik that al-Qasim ibn Muhammad and Nafi, client of Abdullah ibn Umar, said: there is no seclusion except with fasting, because of God's words in His Book: eat and drink until the white thread is distinct from the black thread of dawn; then complete the fast until night, and do not touch them while you are in seclusion in the mosques; for God mentioned seclusion together with fasting. The editor notes that Abu Musab (873) transmitted it from Malik. 1
