Summary
A saying of Malik: cupping is disliked for the fasting person only out of fear that he may weaken; were it not for that, it would not be disliked. If a man cups in Ramadan and escapes breaking his fast, he owes nothing and is not ordered to make up that day, because cupping is disliked for the fasting person only because it exposes the fast to danger; so whoever cups and escapes breaking his fast until evening owes nothing and must make up nothing. The editor notes that Abu Musab transmitted it from Malik (841). 1
