Summary
Malik transmits from al-Ala ibn Abd al-Rahman, from his father, that he asked Abu Said al-Khudri (may God be pleased with him) about the waist-wrapper. Abu Said said: I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: the waist-wrapper of a Muslim reaches to the middle of his shins; there is no fault in what lies between that and the ankles, but what is below that is in the Fire; and God will not look on the Day of Resurrection at one who drags his waist-wrapper out of insolence. 1
