Summary
Malik transmits from Ibn Shihab, from Ali ibn Husayn ibn Ali (may God be pleased with him) ibn Abi Talib (may God be pleased with him), that the Messenger of God ﷺ said: part of the goodness of a person's Islam is that he leaves what does not concern him. The editor notes that a group of Muwatta transmitters narrated it from Malik with a broken chain; Khalid ibn Abd al-Rahman and Musa ibn Dawud narrated from Malik with a connected chain; and the broken version is better known and more common according to Ibn Abd al-Barr. 1
