Summary
Yahya said: Malik said: the matter among us is that when a man's house is locked against him, with no one else in it, cutting is not due on the one who steals from it until he takes it out of the whole house, because the whole house is his protected place. If there are other residents in the house with him, each of them closing his own door, and the house being protected for all of them, then whoever steals from their rooms something requiring cutting and takes it out to the house, has taken it from its protected place to a non-protected one, and the cutting is due. 1
