Summary
Malik said of a conditionally freed slave who said to his master: hasten my manumission, and I will give you fifty dinars in instalments owed by me; the master said: yes, you are free, and you owe fifty dinars which you will pay me, ten dinars each year; the slave agreed. Then the master died a day or two or three later: the manumission stands for him, the fifty dinars become a debt on him, his testimony is admissible, his sanctity, his inheritance and his prescribed punishments are established, and the death of his master does not remit any of that debt. 1
