Summary

Malik transmits from Ibn Shihab, from Abu Salama ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf (may God be pleased with him), from Jabir ibn Abdullah (may God be pleased with him) al-Ansari, that the Messenger said: whichever man grants a life-estate (umra) to himself and his heirs, it belongs to the one who is given it, and never returns to the one who gave it, because he has given a gift in which inheritances have occurred. 1
