Summary
Malik says: the practice among us in divorce and manumission is the same with one witness: the oath falls on the wife's husband and on the master of the slave. Manumission is a prescribed matter, in which the testimony of women is not admissible; when a slave is freed, his status as free is established, prescribed punishments fall on him and he is liable to them. If he commits adultery after being married, he is stoned; if a slave is killed, his killer is killed for him; and inheritance is established for him between him and those who inherit from him. 1
