Summary
Malik says: whoever buys a share of a house or land together with an animal and goods in a single deal, and the pre-emptor asks for pre-emption on the house or land, and the buyer says: take all that I bought, for I bought it all together. Malik said: rather the pre-emptor takes pre-emption on the house or land in proportion to its share of that price; each thing bought is valued separately at the price he bought it for; then the pre-emptor takes pre-emption at what falls to it from the value out of the principal price, and takes nothing from the animal and goods unless he wishes. 1
