Summary
Malik says: the meaning of the Messenger's words let none of you sell over another's sale, as we see it, God knows best, is that he forbade a man to bid on another's bid, when the seller has settled on the bidder, and begins to stipulate the weight of the gold, disclaims defects, and the like, by which it is known that the seller intends to sell to the bidder. That is what is forbidden, God knows best. 1
