Summary
Malik says of a man who has types of cloth brought to him, the buyers gather, and he reads out his sample and says: in each bale so-and-so many Basri mantles, and so-and-so many Sabiri wraps, whose length is so-and-so, and names for them kinds of cloth by their types, and says: buy from me on this description. They buy the bales as he described them to them, then they open them and find them overpriced, and regret it. Malik said: that binds them, if it agrees with the sample on which he sold them. Malik said: this is the practice people among us have always followed, and they allow it among themselves, if the goods agree with the sample and do not differ from it. 1
