Summary
Malik says of a man who sold goods to another, on the basis that the buyer shall suffer no loss: this is an invalid sale and is risk. Its explanation is that it is as if he hired him with a spear: if there is profit in the goods he gets it, and if he sells at cost or at a loss, he gets nothing and his labour is lost in vain. This is not proper. The buyer has a wage for the amount of labour he did. Whatever loss or profit there was in those goods belongs to the seller and falls on him. 1
