Malik says: whoever advances payment for an animal for a stated term, describing it and giving its characteristics, and pays the price, that is lawful. It is binding on the seller and the buyer as they described it and set its characteristics. This has always been the lawful practice of people among them, and what the scholars of our city have always followed. 1
