Summary
Malik says of a slave-girl sold for two slave-girls, when a defect is found in one of the two which justifies returning it: the slave-girl who was the price of the two is valued, and her price is found. Then the two are valued without the defect found in one of them, as sound and whole, and the price of the slave-girl sold for the two is divided between them according to their price, so that each receives its share, the higher-priced one by the measure of her price and the other by its measure. Then the one with the defect is examined, and is returned for the amount that fell to her from that share. 1
