Summary

Malik transmits from Abu al-Zubayr al-Makki that a man proposed to another man for his sister, and it was said that she had done something improper. When this reached Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him), he struck the man, or nearly did, and then said: what does this have to do with the report? 1
