Summary
A saying of Malik: no grandmother inherits except the two grandmothers, because it reached him that the Messenger of God ﷺ gave the grandmother her inheritance. Abu Bakr then inquired until a reliable report from the Messenger of God came to him that he gave the grandmother her inheritance, and he carried it out for her. Then the other grandmother came to Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him), who said: I will not add anything to the shares; if you two share it, it is between you, and whichever of you is alone with it has it. 1
