Summary

The first hadith in the chapter on forbidding spitting toward the qibla. Yahya transmits from Malik from Nafi' from Abdullah ibn Umar: the Prophet ﷺ saw spit on the wall of the qibla and rubbed it off. He then turned to the people and said: when one of you prays, he should not spit in front of his face, for God is before his face when he prays. The editor cites al-Bukhari, Muslim, al-Nasa'i, Ahmad, Abu Awana, al-Baghawi and al-Bayhaqi from Malik's transmitters, and refers to al-Tamhid. 1
