«صلاة الليل والنهار مثنى مثنى، يسلم من كل ركعتين»
A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources
Summary
A report from Malik that he was told Abdullah ibn Umar used to say that the night and day prayers are in pairs, with salam after every two rak'as, in the chapter on night prayer. Malik says this is the practice of the people of Medina. The editor notes that Abu Mus'ab transmitted it from Malik, and that the hadith will come later raised without the word "and day", and that he discussed this word at length in his commentary on Ibn Majah (1322). 1
