Summary

A report that Malik transmits from Safwan ibn Sulaym, and Malik said he did not know whether it was from the Prophet ﷺ, in the chapter on the Friday recitation and whoever leaves it without excuse: whoever leaves Friday prayer three times without excuse or illness, God seals his heart. The editor notes Ibn Abd al-Barr's view that the hadith is traced to the Prophet by several chains, the best of which is the hadith of Abu al-Ja'd al-Damri, which he judges sound, as al-Tirmidhi did. He cites Ahmad, Abu Dawud, al-Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, al-Nasa'i, Ibn Khuzayma, Ibn Hibban and al-Hakim. 1 2
