Overview
Cause of the campaign
Al-Kanz killed a Salahi amir in his fief, the brother of the amir Abu al-Hayja al-Samin. Abu al-Hayja marched to fight him, and sent with him Salah al-Din with a group of amirs and many troops. 2
The fighting
The army reached the town of Tud, whose people sheltered against them; they fought its people and prevailed. Then the troops marched to al-Kanz and fought him, and he was killed with those with him of the Arabs and others. Ibn al-Athir says that the land was secure after him and its people were at peace. 2
