Overview
Al-Kanz, lord of the Upper Egypt (al-Sa'id) in Egypt. He rebelled at the beginning of 570 AH, and a large number of the people of the land, of the Sudan and of the Arabs gathered to him. 1
His rising and death
He killed an amir of the Salahiyya in his fief, who was the brother of the amir Abu al-Hayja al-Samin. Abu al-Hayja marched against him with an army that Salah al-Din had sent him. He fought him after finishing with Tud, and killed him and the Bedouins with him, and the land was secure after him. 1 Ibn al-Athir says that he was killed in 570 AH. 2
