Muhammad al-Amin ibn Ahmad ibn Muhammadi al-Shinqiti al-Alawi. A Mauritanian scholar from a family of learning, known for learning and teaching in the lands of Shinqit. 1

He was born in 1875 CE (1292 AH) and died in 1963 CE (1383 AH). These dates are traditional, from one source, and need an additional source. 1

A Saudi scholar of tafsir of Mauritanian origin, son of Muhammad al-Amin al-Shinqiti, author of 'Adwa al-Bayan'. He headed the Department of Tafsir at the Islamic University of Madinah, and students circulate notes of his tafsir lessons.
