    Summary

Ibn Khatib Sarmin al-'Ajluni, settled at Aleppo. He held Sarmin's khatibate, read the subject's biography under al-Barini at Aleppo, presided over the chair there, made the hajj and sojourned at Mecca repeatedly. He copied Abu 'Abd Allah ibn Jabir al-A'ma al-Maghribi's superb ode and related it from him — Ibn Hajar heard it from him in his sojourn in 801. He died at Mecca on 16 Safar. 1
