Ibn Ishaq names him second after Abu al-Rum of Banu Abd al-Dar, tracing his lineage to Abd Manaf ibn Abd al-Dar. 1
In al-Isaba
Ibn Hajar gives him his own entry in al-Isaba, no. 7015: "Firas ibn al-Nadr (may God be pleased with him) ibn al-Harith ibn Alqama ibn Kalda ibn Abd Manaf ibn Abd al-Dar ibn Qusayy al-Abdari, given the kunya Abu al-Harith"; he records that Ibn Ishaq listed him among those who emigrated to Abyssinia and was martyred at the Yarmuk, while his father was killed at Badr as an unbeliever. 2
