At Malaga
He was at Malaga on the day of the Christians' battle there. Al-Maqqari says that about three thousand of them were killed and about two thousand captured, among them some thirty notables. 2
When his brother's affair became difficult, through the loss of his sight and his affliction, his brother put him forward and gave up the kingdom to him. He then held the kingdom alone, while his nephew Abu Abd Allah remained in the enemy's captivity. 3
