Summary
The Ghamidi woman, a woman of the tribe of Ghamid who came to the Prophet in year 9 AH and confessed herself guilty of the grave offence 1.

She came and confessed before the Prophet, who turned her back repeatedly, then deferred her until she bore her son and weaned him; she was stoned after his weaning 1. The Prophet said of her that she had repented a repentance which, divided among seventy of Medina's people, would have sufficed them 2.
For young visitors
A woman confessed a grave sin before the Prophet and insisted on bearing its punishment after her child had grown; the Prophet described her repentance as truly immense.
