Summary
Turning Banu Zuhra back
When Abu Sufyan's caravan escaped and Quraysh received his message to turn back, Abu Jahl insisted on going on to Badr. Al-Akhnas saw no need for his people, Banu Zuhra, his allies, to fight now that the caravan was safe. So he turned them all back, about three hundred men 2.
No man of Zuhra witnessed Badr, and Banu Zuhra were glad of his judgment afterwards. The book says that he "remained among them obeyed and honoured" 1.
His withdrawal from Badr with Banu Zuhra (The Sealed Nectar, pp.207–208)
He advised Quraysh to turn back, and they disobeyed him. He returned with Banu Zuhra, about three hundred men, so no man of Zuhra witnessed Badr. Banu Zuhra were glad of this, and he remained obeyed and honoured among them (Preparations before Badr) 3 1.
