Summary

Abu Sufyan ibn al-Harith (may God be pleased with him) ibn Abd al-Muttalib al-Hashimi was the Prophet ﷺ's cousin and his foster-brother among Banu Sa'd ibn Bakr, at Halima's house 1 2.

In the birth chapter of The Sealed Nectar

When the book lists the Prophet's foster-brothers in Banu Sa'd, after the sons of al-Harith ibn Abd al-Uzza it mentions his cousin Abu Sufyan ibn al-Harith ibn Abd al-Muttalib 1 2. He is the son of al-Harith, the eldest of the sons of Abd al-Muttalib 3.

What is not covered here

This chapter does not deal with his early opposition to the call, his conversion shortly before the conquest of Mecca, or his poetry. What the data record says about these comes from other sources, and it will be completed when the museum reaches those points in the book.

For young visitors

Abu Sufyan ibn al-Harith was the Prophet's cousin. He was nursed beside him at Halima's in the desert, and so became his foster-brother.
