Chain of transmission

  1. Malik ibn Anas
  2. Abd al-Rahman ibn Abdallah ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Sasaa

Summary

Malik transmits from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Sasaa that it reached him that Amr ibn al-Jamuh (may God be pleased with him) and Abdullah ibn Amr, the Ansar of Banu Salama, had their graves dug up by a flood; they were in one grave, and both were among those martyred on the day of Uhud. The grave was dug out to move them from their place; they were found unchanged, as if they had died yesterday; one of them had been wounded and had put his hand on the wound when he was buried, and it was like that; his hand was removed from the wound, then released and it returned as it was. Between Uhud and the day they were dug out there were forty-six years. The editor notes that this report is cut off in Malik's transmission, and that Ibn Abd al-Barr found sound routes with the same meaning. 1
