Summary

Malik was asked about a man who finds food in enemy land and eats some of it and takes provision, and some is left over: may he keep it to eat with his family, or sell it before he reaches his country and benefit from its price? He said: if he sells it while on campaign, he holds that he should place its price with the booty of the Muslims; and if it reaches its end, there is no harm in his eating it and benefiting from it, if it is a small and trivial amount. 1
