Summary

Malik transmits from Nafi from Abdullah ibn Umar that he said: the Messenger of God ﷺ forbade travelling with the Qur'an to the land of the enemy. Malik said: that is only out of fear that the enemy might seize it. The editor notes that Ibn Abd al-Barr said most of the Muwatta transmitters narrated this hadith from Malik, that it is the sound one, and that what contradicts it from Malik is nothing. 1
