«لا يهدين أحدكم لله من البدن شيئاً يستحيي أن يهديه لكريمه، فإن الله أكرم الكرماء وأحق من اختير له»
A verbatim excerpt of the text, forty words at most; the full text is in the edition cited under sources
Summary
Malik transmits from Hisham ibn Urwa, from his father, who used to say to his sons: my sons, none of you should offer to God any camel that he would be ashamed to offer to his own noble guest; for God is the most noble of the noble and most deserving of what is chosen for Him. The editor notes that Abu Musab (1214) and Suwayd (526) transmitted it from Malik. 1
