Chain of transmission
- Malik ibn Anas
- Abdallah ibn Dinar
Summary
Malik transmits from Abdallah ibn Dinar, from Abdullah ibn Umar, that a man called out to the Prophet ﷺ and asked him about the lizard. He said: I neither eat it nor forbid it. The editor notes Ibn Abd al-Barr's view that Yahya ibn Yahya narrated it this way from Malik, that most Muwatta transmitters did too, and that Ibn Bukayr's transmission from Nafi from Ibn Umar is sound for both of them. 1
