Summary
Malik transmits from Ibn Shihab, from Abu Bakr ibn Ubaydallah ibn Abdallah ibn Umar, from Abdullah ibn Umar, that the Messenger of God ﷺ said: when one of you eats, let him eat with his right hand, and drink with his right hand, for the devil eats with his left and drinks with his left. The editor notes that the correct name of the narrator is Abu Bakr ibn Ubaydallah; scholars differ over whether he heard from his grandfather, according to al-Bukhari, Abu Zur'a and al-Daraqutni; al-Tirmidhi held Malik's and Ibn Uyayna's transmission sound. 1
