Summary
Malik transmits from Said ibn Amr ibn Shurahbil ibn Said ibn Saad ibn Ubada, from his father, from his grandfather, that Saad ibn Ubada went out with the Messenger on some of his campaigns, and his mother was dying in Medina. It was said to her: make a bequest. She said: what should I bequeath? The property is Saad's. She died before Saad ibn Ubada returned. When he came, it was mentioned to him, and Saad said: Messenger of God, will it benefit her if I give charity on her behalf? The Messenger said: yes. Saad said: this orchard is charity on her behalf, naming an orchard. 1
