Summary
Malik says: the one who takes money in profit-sharing may not stipulate that he will work with it for years without it being taken from him. Nor is it proper for the owner of the money to stipulate that you shall not return it to me for years, for a period they name; because profit-sharing is not for a term. Rather the owner gives his money to the one who works with it. If one of them wishes to abandon it, while the money is still in cash and nothing has been bought with it, he abandons it, and the owner takes his money. If the owner wishes to take it back after goods have been bought with it, that is not his right until the goods are sold and turned into coin. If the worker wishes to return it while it is in goods, that is not his right until he sells it and returns it in coin as he took it. 1
