Summary
Malik says it reached him that Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) said of a woman whose husband divorced her while he was away from her, then took her back without informing her of his return, and she had been told of the divorce and married another: if her new husband has consummated the marriage or not, her first husband has no claim on her. Malik said this is the most beloved to him of what he has heard on this and on the missing husband. 1
