Overview
The ghilman swore to depose Jalal al-Dawla: they cut his khutba on Friday the third of Rabi' I 423, freed his concubines, demanded his removal to Wasit, and escorted him down — a hundred ghulams, then twenty; he fled by night to 'Ukbara and the palace was looted. He wrote the Isfahsalar Abu Kalijar inviting him, who answered warily asking five hundred ghulams; Jalal went to Hilla, prostrated before Kamal al-Dawla Abu Sinan, married him his daughter and promised treasuries — the mediation restored his khutba on 17 Rabi' I at the City mosque and Rusafa, then the Caliph's mosque. That Shawwal came his wine-drinking in the Caliph's garden, al-Qa'im's reproach, and his apology 1.
