Overview
Abd Allah ibn Amir besieged Abarshahr, which is the city of Nishapur, for months. Then the Muslims entered it at night, and its governor made peace with them for money. 1
The siege and the entry
Each quarter of the city had a man set over it. The lord of one of the quarters asked for safe conduct in return for letting the Muslims in, and it was granted. He brought them in at night, and they opened the gate. 1
The peace
The governor took refuge in the citadel with a group, and asked for safe conduct. Ibn Amir made peace with him for all of Nishapur, on money to be paid: a million dirhams, and it is also said seven hundred thousand. 1
When Ibn Amir took it, he appointed Qays ibn al-Haytham al-Sulami over Nishapur. 1
