Overview
In 484 AH the Almoravids entered Seville. al-Mu'tamid ibn Abbad went out to meet them at the courtyard of the palace and charged at them again and again, until he had driven them to the river. Then he became certain that his rule had come to an end. 2
The end
al-Maqqari reports that he came down from the palace into captivity. He was shackled and taken to Aghmat in the Maghrib. With that, the rule of the Banu Abbad in Seville came to an end, after it had lasted some sixty years, since the days of al-Mu'tadid Abbad ibn Isma'il. 2
al-Maqqari describes al-Mu'tamid as the most famous of the taifa kings in poetry, culture and rule. 2
The data names Yusuf ibn Tashfin as the Almoravid amir in this event.
Note
The date is derived and rests on a single source. It needs an additional source.
